As a private individual

During my personal journey, I have learned that facing ourselves and growing is a continuous learning process.

Since a very young age, I felt that sometimes I experience certain situations with more difficulty and it takes more effort for me to be satisfied with my life. Recognition is not enough, however, if you don't change the things that truly bother you. There was a time when almost every area of my life changed, and the only familiar thing remained myself, whom I didn't consider enough for the task at hand. I was forced to discover my shortcomings that prevented me from being able to fully experience my days and human relationships. I had to learn that our most important relationship is with ourselves, and until this relationship is the most loving it can be, the other areas of our life cannot be completely fulfilling either. I am proud that I managed to turn towards self-awareness during this period.

Today, I live the life of an average adult woman who strives to do her best in all areas of life. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, and my favorite form of exercise is reformer pilates. Sports greatly help in maintaining a positive mental state and my connection with myself. Did you know that sports are actively used as a tool in the complementary treatment of certain forms of depression? Physical activity stimulates the production of happiness hormones like endorphins, dopamine, and serotonin. So, if you also want to naturally increase your happiness hormones during your everyday life, you know what you have to do! ☺️

As a therapist

In my professional life, I am particularly interested in the connection between mental and physical health, as I have personally experienced the consequences of the disruption of this unity. The clinical and health psychology specialization is one of the most interesting and complex branches of psychology, as it emphasizes not only mental health but also physical health and the connection between the two.

This field is specialized in uncovering and treating people's psychological problems, as well as promoting a healthy lifestyle and preventing diseases. One of my main areas of interest, the topic of eating difficulties, is closely linked to clinical psychology for this reason. These problems often pose a challenge both from a mental and physical health perspective, since eating disorders (e.g., anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder) are psychological-origin problems that complexly affect the body's functioning and health.

However, besides these diagnosable disorders, there are eating difficulties that worsen our quality of life, which do not have an official diagnostic framework but still have a significant impact on our self-esteem, self-image, social gatherings, family and romantic relationships, therefore affecting our everyday life overall. I researched one such eating disorder for my thesis: orthorexia is a relatively new and less known eating pattern that signifies an obsession with healthy eating. While striving for healthy eating can be positive in itself, in orthorexia, the individual is extremely focused on consuming "clean," "healthy" foods, and this obsession negatively impacts their quality of life. We can reach the root of this behavioral pattern through a kind of shared, analytical, investigative work – I can reveal that love for health is certainly not the underlying cause of everything.

Besides the topic of eating difficulties, I am particularly interested in negative mood states, lethargy, difficulties in emotional life, and the inability to reduce tension. These issues often appear as a result of poor self-esteem and a negative self-image, for which the development of self-knowledge can be very helpful.

Clinical psychology represents a holistic approach, so during sessions, I help you understand how psychological factors influence physical health and vice versa, for example, in cases of stress, anxiety, and various negative emotional and mood states. I believe that psychological support can bring significant change to your life as a whole, and the thought that I can help you achieve a balanced, healthy life is motivating for me.
