As a private individual

Since childhood, it has been important to me to meet others' expectations—perhaps too much so. This eagerness often came with anxiety because I always wanted to be the best, and when I didn't succeed, I often felt worthless.

However, over the years, I realized that the feeling of worth doesn’t come from our achievements, but from how we relate to ourselves.

By accepting ourselves, we can approach others with support and love. This realization led me to become a psychologist, where I help others tackle their inner uncertainties so they can find their own path towards self-love and inner peace. It is important to me that those who come to me can work on understanding and solving their difficulties in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. I believe that everyone has the potential for growth, change, and to better understand themselves.

Szpodnyi Kitti

In my free time, I enjoy diving into creative activities like cooking, crocheting, or making amigurumi figures. These small creations not only bring joy but also help me quiet my mind, organize my thoughts, and recharge. This immersion into creating serves as a daily reminder that we don't always have to be perfect; it's enough to be present and share a part of ourselves—either with others or ourselves.

My biggest goal in life is to pass on values that last for others—whether it’s a thought, a feeling, or a new perspective.

As a therapist

During my years of professional qualification, I was particularly fascinated by the topic of sexuality, as this area is a key to human relationships, self-esteem, and emotional health, yet we often treat it as a taboo.

In my thesis, I researched several topics within the field of sexuality:

  • the relationship between religiosity and the willingness to engage in sex without commitment and emotions (promiscuity);

  • as well as the connection between sexual dysfunctions and symptoms of psychological difficulties.

These studies highlighted that sexuality should not be treated in isolation, as it is closely intertwined with other areas of life, such as relationship dynamics, self-esteem, and mental health. That's why in my work, I find it important to use a holistic approach, focusing on the client's personal story, life situation, and individual needs. To achieve this, I am training in couple and family therapy methods to more effectively help those who come to me in processing and resolving their relationship difficulties.

A significant portion of my time with clients is dedicated to couple therapy work. Couples who come to me often express thoughts such as “I am not a good enough partner”, “I will never be good enough for my partner”. These dysfunctional thoughts often lead to a vicious cycle: problems cause anxiety, which further deepens dysfunctional functioning. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) can be an effective tool in helping break this vicious cycle, and is also an excellent psychotherapeutic tool for managing anxiety, depression, and sexual dysfunctions. It can help identify and change those thinking patterns that underlie negative feelings and behaviors, laying the foundation for more adaptive relationship dynamics.

Throughout my career, I have also worked with criminalized adolescents , where understanding personal traumas, family background, and relationship issues were crucial for their support. These experiences have further reinforced my belief that human relationships and community background fundamentally determine our mental functioning. The above-mentioned family therapy methodology with its systemic approach perfectly supports this idea, making its toolset extremely well applicable in work with adolescents.

My goal in my work is to create a safe, non-judgmental, accepting environment where my clients can openly share their deepest questions and feelings, and get help in better understanding themselves. Whether it's relationship challenges, sexual problems, family conflicts, adolescent crises, or blockages in other areas of life, I believe that together we can find solutions that bring genuine change in life management.

Kitti was very kind, it was easy to communicate with her, I liked her approach, she explained everything about the therapy needed to "get started," so I didn't feel anything was missing. I also liked the environment, everything was fine.
