Bemutatkozás
I am Petra Nagy, a specialist in sexual psychology, a consultant in cognitive behavioral therapy, a trainee couple and family therapist, and the professional director of Tabuk Villája Psychological Center.
My journey in psychology started much earlier than one might think. At the age of nine, with serious professional conviction, I made a diagnosis about my grandmother talking to herself. I decided she didn't need medication, and in a quite ambitious way, I preemptively awarded myself a doctorate, authenticated with a drawn stamp and my first adult-like signature on the outpatient record:

Since then, this is more than just play and stories, as
I have been continuously striving for the last 12 years to become a better professional through my training and professional work with my clients.
Besides my role as a specialist psychologist, today I support the professional development of nearly 40 psychologists through case discussion groups, individual consultations, and professional workshops. Additionally, by creating a variety of professional materials – such as writing articles, producing podcasts, and conducting TV interviews, I aim to give substance to the concept of psychoeducation.
After completing my psychology degree at ELTE, I obtained my degree in work and organizational psychology at BME, then returned to ELTE to delve into what always fascinated me – sexual psychology. Later, I also learned the methods of cognitive behavioral therapy and couple and family therapy, to offer a more comprehensive toolkit to those who seek my help.
Cognitive behavioral therapy is one of the most researched and effective methodologies to recognize and make conscious the connection between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It provides tangible tools for change following a specific structure, making it highly applicable for anxiety disorders (e.g., general anxiety, panic disorders, compulsions, phobias), mood disorders, self-esteem issues, and sexual difficulties.
The systemic approach of couple and family therapy highlights that human functioning cannot be understood without its connections. In this approach, the focus is on mapping relationship dynamics, communication patterns, roles, and interactions.
This psychotherapeutic methodology can be used not only in couple and family therapies but also in individual processes. It can offer surprising and comforting insights when we want to clarify alone the blocks and wounds acquired in our family origin or relationships.

Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens. /C. G. Jung
I believe that a good psychologist functions as a team player in their counseling work. A diverse professional community provides the best foundation for continuous growth because having people to think, learn, and debate with surely pushes us out of our habitual thought patterns, leading to development within us. This movement also helps us find opportunities to look inward and awaken — thus acquiring deeper self-knowledge and the ability for self-reflection.
As a psychologist and professional leader at Tabuk Villája, it is equally important to me that we build each other up professionally and humanely within an open, accepting, and supportive framework with my clients and psychologist colleagues alike.
